Judith Dipodiputro (born 12 September 1964) is a professional, social activist, film enthusiast, nationalist and political volunteer from Indonesia. She served as Special Staff to the Minister of State Owned Enterprises,[1][2] as Commercial Director of PERUM BULOG (2017-2019) and President Director of PERUM Produksi Film Negara (2019 – 2021) during the tenure of Minister Rini M. Soemarno (2014 – 2019) and Erick Thohir (2019 – present).

Is currently also member of executive boards of the Javan Gibbon Foundation (2012-present), Pokja Papua (2014 – present) and Indonesian Film Commission (2022 – present).

Family and Education

Judith Dipodiputro was born in Prague, Czech Republic, of mixed Javanese, European and Native American blood, to Jubilin Poerwowinoto and Guillermo Navarro, an Ecuadorian economist and politician. In 1969 her mother married Gunawan Iskandar Tirtodidjojo, a diplomat at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The eldest of 7 children, Judith Dipodiputro received her primary education abroad. Returned to her homeland in 1978, graduating from Santo Paskalis Middle School and Santa Ursula High School in Jakarta. She received higher education at the University of Indonesia, Jakarta (1983), IPMI Business School Jakarta (2006), and became an IDEAS Fellow from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston (2011).

Married in 1990 to Widharma Dipodiputro and is blessed with a daughter, Maral Dipodiputro.

Career History

Judith J. Dipodiputro started her career in the media sector. Became a broadcaster at the Voice of Indonesia and TVRI. Reached the position of Chief Editor of The Daily Executive Economic Digest (1995).

Subsequently served in national and multinational private companies: Vice President Director at Total Explorations and Productions Indonésie (2007 – 2016), Director at Citra Agratama Persada Group (1993 – 1999), Deputy Director for Corporate Affairs and HR at Standard Chartered Bank (1987-1991).

In government, she held the positions of Special Advisor to the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Special Assistant to the Head of the State Apparatus Automation Coordinating Agency (1991 – 1993), Expert Staff to the State Minister for the Environment (1993 – 1996), Special Advisor to the Governor of East Kalimantan (1994-1998) and Special Advisor to the Regent Kutai Kartanegara (2003 – 2007).

Judith Dipodiputro is deeply interested in education development, a commitment inherited from her grandfather, an educational figure from Banyumas, Central Java.

Starting from being a voluntary visiting teacher at various state high schools in Sumatra and Java, becoming the youngest administrator at the Foundation for the Development of Disabled Children and then building the Permata Hati Ibu Foundation and the Tiara Indonesia Foundation. Overseeing the formation of the Oil and Gas Polytechnic and Education Council (2003) in Handil, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, the Ibunda Istianah Foundation (1995) and the Luhur Bakti Pertiwi Foundation (2010).

In the fields of sports, health, environment and community empowerment

  • Starting in 1985, became member at Executive Boards of PERCASI, PBVSI, Drumband, PRIMA and KONI sports organizations.
  • Starting in 1985, became board member of PDDI and FIODS health organizations.
  • Starting in 1993, became founder or executive board member of environmental organizations the Kalpawilis Foundation and the Javanese Gibbon Foundation.
  • Starting in 1985, became founder or executive board member of the community economic empowerment organizations: Tiara Bakti Foundation, Rumah-Indonesia Foundation, Dian Insani Abadi Foundation, Bakti Total Bagi Indonesia Lestari Foundation, Indonesian Dialog Forum Foundation, Mina Rizki Abadi Cooperative.
