Joseph A. Ryan (born c. 1970) is a United States Army lieutenant general who has served as the deputy chief of staff for operations, plans, and training of the United States Army since November 2024. He most recently served as the assistant deputy chief of staff for operations, plans, and training from 2023 to 2024.[1] He most recently served as the commanding general of the 25th Infantry Division from 2021 to 2023.[2][3]

In July 2024, Ryan was nominated for promotion to lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff for operations, plans, and training.[4][5]
