Joe Itsebaga Acha is a Nigerian jurist who served as the Chief Judge of Edo State from 6 October 2021, until 19 May 2023.[1] He took on the role of Acting Chief Judge on 17 May 2021, following the retirement of Justice Esther Edigin.[2] Acha was born on 19 May 1958, in Okpekpe, Edo State, Nigeria.[1] He is the first chief judge from Etsako East and is married to Christiana Acha, with whom he has children and grandchildren.[3]
Early life and education
[edit]Justice Acha was born in the town of Okpekpe and raised in a Catholic family.[1]
Career
[edit]Acha began his legal career after completing his formal education and training in law. He served in the judiciary and became a judge in Edo State. His term as Chief Judge involved efforts to improve the judicial system and maintain the rule of law.[4][5]
Personal life
[edit]Joe Acha is married to Christiana Acha with whom he has children and grandchildren.[3] He is a member of the Catholic Church.[3]
