Jens Sparschuh
Jens Sparschuh (born 14 May 1955) is a German writer from Chemnitz.
Life
[edit]Sparschuh was born in Chemnitz (then Karl-Marx-Stadt) and grew up in East Berlin. After graduation in Halle (Saale) he studied philosophy and logic in Leningrad from 1973 until 1978.[1] From 1978, he was assistant-scientist at the Humboldt University of Berlin and in 1983 he got his Ph.D. for the thesis „heuristischen Ausdrucksfähigkeit aussagenlogischer Beweisbegriffe“.[2]
From then on, Sparschuh makes his living as a writer of novels, essays, poetry and audio books.[3]
After the German reunification he briefly was member of the New Forum.
In 2006 and 2019 he gave short courses in Grinnell-College on German literature.[4] He also gave lessons in the Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig.[5]
