Jaxon Kohler (born June 17, 2003) is an American college basketball player for the Michigan State Spartans of the Big Ten Conference.
Early life and high school
[edit]Kohler grew up in American Fork, Utah and initially attended Wasatch Academy.[1] He transferred to Coronado High School in Henderson, Nevada after his freshman year.[2] After one year, Kohler moved back to Utah and enrolled at American Fork High School.[3] He averaged 21.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists and was named the Utah 6A Player of the Year.[4] He transferred a fourth time to Southern California Academy in Castaic, California before the start of his senior year.[5] Kohler was rated a four-star recruit and committed to play college basketball at Michigan State over offers from Iowa, USC, and Nebraska.[6]
College career
[edit]Kohler played in all 34 of the Michigan State Spartans' games during his freshman season and averaged 3.0 points and 2.9 rebounds.[7] He missed the first 13 games of his sophomore season due to a foot injury.[8] Kohler payed in 21 games as a sophomore and averaged 2.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.[9] He entered his junior season as a key reserve at power forward.[10] Kohler set career highs with 20 points scored and 13 rebounds in a 96–60 win over Niagara on November 7, 2024.[11]
