Jack Colin Doherty (born October 8, 2003), also known as Shane Doherty, is an American YouTuber and former Kick streamer who performs stunts and pranks, some of which are illegal.

Early life

Jack Colin Doherty was born on October 8, 2003 in Long Island, New York, to Mark and Anna Doherty.[3] He is of Irish and Polish descent. In 2021, Doherty graduated from North Shore High School,[4][5] a public high school in the North Shore area.

Doherty started his channel in July 2016, at the age of 13.[6] His first video was uploaded in September of that year, and was about him flipping markers twice in a row.[7] This video is his most viewed video with 29 million views.[7] His early content consisted of him flipping several objects, ranging from markers to water bottles.[8]

Rise to fame

In January 13, 2017, Doherty uploaded a video called "I Flipped All These", which became his breakthrough video.[9][10] His wealth had begun to rise at this time, and he purchased his first house at 15 years old.[11]

Dr. Phil controversy

In 2020, Doherty, Doherty's father, and their neighbor were featured on an episode of Dr. Phil about Doherty's behavior towards his neighbors. Doherty argued with Phil McGraw, showing no remorse and leading to the episode's early end.[12]

Izi Prime assault

Doherty was assaulted by streamer Izi Prime at his house. During a collaborative stream with Doherty, Izi Prime attacked his co-streamer in a seemingly unprovoked attack. The assault was brought to the attention of local police; however, Doherty signed a form waiving any prosecution of Prime.[13]

Halloween party incident

In October 2023, Doherty was at Corinna Kopf's Halloween party when he was involved in a verbal argument with other guests, one of whom named Chase Gardella was attacked by Doherty's bodyguard. Doherty was sued for assault and battery by Gardella for the incident on February 21, 2024.[14][15]

Car crash

On October 5, 2024, during a live stream, Doherty hydroplaned on the highway, crashing his McLaren 570S while reading his chat while driving.[16][17] The car was totaled on impact. This led to his ban from Kick. His cameraman, referred to as Michael, was injured and bleeding from his head.[18] Michael received stitches at the hospital.[19][20] Doherty was cited by Florida Highway Patrol for manipulating a wireless communication device while driving.[21]
