Morgan Micheletti, MD, FACS, is an American board-certified ophthalmologist.[1][2][3][4][5] He is a partner, fellowship director,[6] and research director at Berkeley Eye Center.[7][8]
Education
[edit]Micheletti earned a bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Texas at Austin and a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicinee. He completed a transitional-year internship and ophthalmology residency at Emory University School of Medicine.
Career
[edit]Micheletti is a partner, fellowship director, and research director at Berkeley Eye Center.[9][10] He specializes in cataract,[11] refractive,[12][13] and anterior segment surgery and has developed several patent-pending medical devices,[14][15] including a sustainable surgical blade, a glaucoma implant, and an electronic lens implant. He has introduced techniques for IOL management.[16] In 2024, some of his devices were set to be launched to the International Space Station aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.[17][18][19]
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology,[20][21] and the American College of Surgeons.[22][23] Micheletti has served on various professional committees and contributed to peer-reviewed publications. He also developed the Micheletti Intraocular Trephine,[24] a surgical instrument for cataract and IOL surgeries.[25][26]
Micheletti is also the founder and CEO MM Eye Media, LLC, co-founder of EyeFusion Innovations, and the founder of Ophthalmic Neo-Innovations of Texas.[27][28][29]
Micheletti has published numerous publications and has delivered lectures,[30][31] and presentations at worldwide ophthalmology events and conferences.[32] He has also been a member of various roundtables and panels.[33][34]
