Irina Mashinski

Irina Mashinski (Russian: Ирина Викторовна Машинская) is a Russian-American poet and essayist.
Biography
[edit]Mashinski was born in Moscow in 1958.[1] She received her Ph.D. in 1991 from Moscow University where she studied paleogeography.[2] She is the editor-in-chief of the StoSvet project that publishes Cardinal Points,[3] the journal of Brown University’s Slavic Department.

Awards and honors
[edit]In 2021 Mashinski and Boris Dralyuk won first prize in the 2012 Joseph Brodsky / Stephen Spender competition for their translation of 'Field Hospital' by Arseny Tarkovsky.[6]
