Iranian Youth Cinema Society

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS) is an Iranian non-profit educational film institution established in 1976.[1][2] IYCS is associated with the Iranian Ministry of Culture and has 60 branche offices around the country; and main branch office is located in Tehran. IYCS holds different filmmaking courses for young talents all around the country and trains students to specialize in cinema.

[3]

IYCS also organizes Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) every year in October, which is an Academy Awards (Oscars) qualifying film festival. The master classes holds during the festival are one of the most important parts of it and young students of the IYCS participate in this event every year.[4][5]

In 2020, the organization began to release its products and courses online.[6][7]

IYCS produces numerous short films every year[2] and supports their presentation at the international film festivals.[8] For example, in 2022, IYCS participated in Shanghai International Film Festival, presenting Iranian shorts.[9]
