Io sono (which translates to "I am") is a 2021 artwork by Italian artist Salvatore Garau. The work consists of an immaterial sculpture.
Description
[edit]For Garau, the sculpture asserts its conformation in its own nothingness.
The vacuum is nothing more than a space full of energy, and even if we empty it and there is nothing left, according to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, that nothing has a weight... Therefore, it has energy that is condensed and transformed into particles, that is, into us.[1]
Io Sono, which was initially valued at €6,000–9,000, was auctioned off for €15,000.[1][2]
