"I Love You, I'm Sorry" is a song by American singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams from her second studio album, The Secret of Us (2024). The song was written by Abrams and Aaron Dessner, with production handled by Abrams, Dessner, and Audrey Hobert. A music video for the song premiered on July 17, 2024. On October 11, 2024, Abrams released the Vevo live performance on all streaming platforms as a promotional single.[1]

Background

The song was co-written and produced with longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner, with additional contributions from Audrey Hoberts. The title bears a resemblance to Abrams' earlier well-known track, "I Miss You, I'm Sorry", released on April 8, 2020.

Commercial performance

In North America, it debuted at number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending August 17, 2024, marking Abrams' fifth entry to the chart, following "Everywhere, Everything", "Close to You", "Risk", and "Us". Later, it rose to its current peak position of 19.[2] In Canada, the song reached number 14 on the Canadian Hot 100 for the week ending October 26, 2024.[3] "I Love You, I'm Sorry" peaked at number 4 on the UK Singles Chart.[4] Elsewhere, the song reached number-one in Ireland[5] and charted in the top 20 in several countries, including Lebanon, New Zealand, [6] and Australia.[7]

The song debuted at number 141 on the Billboard Global 200 chart for the week of August 17, 2024, and later climbed to its peak position of 14 on the week ending October 26, 2024.[8]
