Bariai (also known as Kabana) is an Austronesian language of New Britain.
Name
[edit]The name Bariai, literally 'at the mangrove', is derived from bare 'mangrove' + -eai 'locative suffix'. The alternative name Kabana comes from the Amara language, meaning 'foreigner'.
