Page creation
[edit]Have created the page as part of an introduction for new users, particularly to have a 'where to go next' link without modifying the actuall five pillars page. Part of Help:Getting started. - Think this was a good idea. I'm going to try & simplify it down a bit more now it's here in intro help, with a link to the fuller article wp:five pillars Eversense (talk) 01:47, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
- Oh just realised it's just an automated-in copy of what's over there, not actual separate editable content here. Anyone know if it could be so can have simpler version here, or does it have to be like that to be synched or something? Eversense (talk) 01:51, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
- Well, you could just paste the original code over here, but then you'd have to manually sync the contents for the rest of your life, and anyone who read it would incorrectly believe that your cut-down version was the "real" 5P page. You might be better off creating your own, original WP:Principles essay. (That's how 5P was created in the first place: somebody decided he could do better than the previous favorite summary, which was WP:TRIFECTA.) WhatamIdoing (talk) 01:19, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- That Trifecta was a breath of fresh air but I was thinking here only about trying to make some of the sentences or words less complex. Not something better or new, just that since it's here in help/basic/intro I thought it could potentially give a gentler curve up to the 'real' 5P. Eversense (talk) 11:52, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
