Heinz Janisch

Heinz Janisch is an Austrian radio journalist and writer. In 2024, he won the Hans Christian Andersen writing award.[1][2]

Janisch was born in 1960 in Güssing, Burgenland.[3] He graduated from high school in 1978 and subsequently studied German philology at the University of Vienna. Since 1982, has has been working for Österreichischer Rundfunk.[4]

Since 1989, Janisch has been writing. His works include children's books, for which he got multiple awards, poetry, as well as theater plays and dance pieces and film scripts.[3][4]
