Grema Sulaiman is the current serving Director General of The Centre For Energy Investment and innovation.[2][3]
Early life and Education
[edit]Grema was born on the 26 January 1996 in Lagos, Nigeria to the family of late Alhaji. Sulaiman Hamid, a nephew to the late Alhaji Grema Mohammed MFR.[4] He obtained his primary school cerfificate in Ogun State in the year 2007. He proceeded to attend Dream Makers international college, Lagos. There, he successfully acquired his West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) in 2013.
In 2019, He earned his first degree in Mass Communications from HEGJ Univeristy in Benin Republic. He later obtained a certification in Innovation Strategy and Leadership from the European Institute of Leadership and Management Dublin, Ireland.[5][6]
Career
[edit]In 2020, Grema served as the CEO of Federation Media, a digital media and production company located in Abuja, Nigeria. [7] In the same year, he founded Buyfuel, which was Nigeria and Africa's first petro product E-commerce retail platform.[8] Subsequently, in 2022, he established The Centre for Energy Investment and Innovation, and was appointed as the Director General.[9][10][11][12]
Innitiatives

As the serving Director General of the CEII, Grema proposed the Nigeria Energy Transition Fund (NETFUND).[13] The initiative aims to attract over $2bn in Foreign direct investment into the country, and was structured under the CEII Foreign Investment Module, aligning with the renewed hope agenda of the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.[14] Grema pitched this agenda during the African Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS24) held in the Aso Villa, Abuja in August of 2024.[15][16][17]
In 2023, Grema spearheaded the joint landmark agreement between The CEII and Synergy Infrastructure Development & Investment Limited (SIDIL), a collaboration which aims to champion decentralised energy provision for nationwide power generation in Nigeria.[18][19][20]
