Taxonomy

[edit]

This species was first described by Cajetan von Felder, Rudolf Felder and Alois Friedrich Rogenhofer in 1875 and named Crambus interruptus.[3] In 1882 Edward Meyrick, thinking he was describing a new species, named the species Diptychophora astrosema.[4] Meyrick went on to describe the species in detail under that name in 1883.[5] In 1885 Meyrick corrected this synonymy.[6][7]
