The Gitelson Building is a historic building located at 6505 W. Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
History
[edit]The Gitelson Building was built in 1917 as a utilitarian two-story commercial office and retail structure. Originally featuring a brick exterior, the building was remodeled in the 1920s to a stylish Spanish Colonial Revival design, but all ornament has since been removed.[1]
In 1984, the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District was added to the National Register of Historic Places, with Gitelson listed in the district. However, it was not listed as a contributing property, as it was deemed to not contribute to the character of the district.[1]
In 2017, the building sold for $11.25 million.[2]
