The Future Resilience Forum (FRF) is an international security conference launched in October 2023 in London by its founder Fiona Hill. The forum analyses the key factors shaping the emerging global order by gathering insights from leaders across business, politics, government, academia, and investment sectors.

FRF focuses on creating long-term plans to strengthen democratic systems, reduce risks, and take advantage of new opportunities in a fast-changing world. It aims to build international connections and partnerships to adapt to global changes, helping improve security and understand the new world order.

History

[edit]

The Future Resilience Forum (FRF) was launched in October 2023 in London by the UK's first female Downing Street Chief-of-Staff Fiona Hill, with keynote speeches from UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and former Senegalese President Macky Sall.[1][2]

The event featured over 40 speakers from 17 countries, including Japan's Minister for Digital Transformation Taro Kono, BBC Director General Tim Davie, Iraq's President Abdul Latif Rashid, and former UK Secret Intelligence Service Chief Sir Alex Younger.[3][4][5] During the forum, Macky Sall stressed in his speech the need for a more inclusive and representative multilateral system to sustain the global financial structure.[6][7]

In 2024, Bloomberg became the media sponsor for FRF.[8] The 2024 edition of FRF will feature 60 speakers from 20 countries, including representatives from Togo, Gambia, Estonia, Turkey, Mali, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ghana, and Morocco. A key focus of FRF 2024 is highlighting the interconnectedness of foreign policy, trade, development, and security, while fostering collaboration and rethinking relationships between Western nations and African countries in the pursuit of global security.[9]

Structure

[edit]

FRF is headquartered in London, with attendance limited to 300 invitees. The forum operates under the guidance of an advisory board comprising key figures from media, business, and security sectors.

FRF is led by its founder, Fiona Hill. Mike Craven, founder and Executive Chairman of Lexington Communications and former Communications Director of the UK Labour Party, joined as a director of FRF in 2024 and serves on the advisory board.[10] The organization is registered with Companies House.[11]
