The Franklin Fire is an active wildfire burning in Los Angeles County, California. The fire began on December 9 and is 56% contained as of December 16.
Progression
[edit]The fire ignited north of Pepperdine University, on Malibu Canyon Road, at approximately 11 p.m. on December 9, 2024.[1]
The fire had reached about 300 acres at around 1:00 a.m. and ran towards Pepperdine University, reaching over 4,000 acres by December 11.[2] The fire is now 56% contained as of December 16, 2024.
Effects
