Fonroche Lighting America is a U.S.-based solar-powered street lighting solutions provider for the public and private sectors. Founded on August 19, 2019, the company is a subsidiary of French company Fonroche Lighting. The company offers sustainable and off-grid solar lighting systems for outdoor applications.[1]

Overview

[edit]

Fonroche Lighting America was established following its acquisition of SolarOne Solutions, which expanded the French parent company’s presence in the U.S. market. The parent company was founded in 2011 in Agen, France, and has deployed over 200,000 solar street lighting systems worldwide. Since its founding, Fonroche Lighting America has been providing off-grid, solar-powered lighting solutions tailored to the specific needs of municipalities, residential areas, and commercial developments across the United States.[1][2]

Products and technology

[edit]

The primary offering of Fonroche Lighting America is its SmartLight system, a solar-powered streetlight that operates independently of the electrical grid. The SmartLight system is designed to operate 365 nights a year, regardless of weather conditions, making it a practical solution for areas with limited or no access to traditional grid power.[3]

Notable projects

[edit]

City of Albuquerque, New Mexico

[edit]

Fonroche Lighting America was contracted to install 250 solar streetlights as part of Albuquerque’s initiative to improve infrastructure while reducing energy costs. The project was considered a success in improving safety and energy efficiency in the city.[4]

Fort Worth, Texas

[edit]

In the Harriet Creek Ranch neighborhood, residents faced challenges due to delays in streetlight repairs caused by underground electrical issues. Fonroche Lighting America’s installation of solar streetlights provided a faster, off-grid solution, prompting the city to expand solar lighting initiatives.[5]

East Las Vegas

[edit]

Fonroche Lighting America also installed solar-powered street lights in East Las Vegas to illuminate several parking lots across the Arts District and the Downtown area. Initially, the company installed a total of 12 streetlights and later on installed 100 more.[1]

Sustainability and innovation

[edit]

Fonroche Lighting America emphasizes sustainability in its products and operations. The company’s recyclable solar lighting systems are designed for long lifespans, reducing waste and long-term costs. Additionally, the company’s Fonroche Connect platform enables real-time monitoring and control of lighting systems, allowing for optimized performance and proactive maintenance.[6][7]
