Suggestion: Cross-hatched coloring for US States

[edit]

The US system is an awkward blend of direct and indirect elections (colloquially we say "I'm voting for Biden", not "I'm voting for an elector who I think is going to support Biden"). I think cross-hatching gray/pink/purple would be a good way to show this! Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 01:55, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would certainly expect the United States to be colored as "first past the post". It does not matter that it uses an extremely strange method of weighing and counting the votes. Also need an explanation why Canada and Australia and several other countries are not colored in. I think the only countries that should be gray are ones that don't have a "head of state" or where that position is not elected. Spitzak (talk) 21:19, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Head of state for Canada, Australia, and most Commonwealth countries would be the Governor-General, who's appointed by the King. Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 23:35, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
