1. The song was written with the idea of creating a visual setting for the rest of the album, using the "noise" to portray a futuristic sci-fi setting. This clip helps to illustrate how the band thought that setting would sound.
2. The theme of the song is moral confusion, introduced in the lyrics "And I have no compass". This sample helps the reader/listener to understand the theme of confusion by showing how those lyrics were integrated on top of the noise of the futuristic backdrop.
3. With the album Zooropa, U2 took a further step in re-inventing the sound of their music; the clip shows how much the band's sound had changed in comparison to previous songs such as "Pride (In the Name of Love)", "Sunday Bloody Sunday", and "Where the Streets Have No Name".
