English: This is a beautiful image of what appears to be Turkey Tail mushrooms (Trametes versicolor). These fungi are known for their distinct multi-colored, concentric bands resembling the tail feathers of a turkey. They grow on decaying wood and are commonly found in forests. Turkey Tail mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine and are studied for their potential health benefits.
This macro photograph was created using the "focus stacking" technique. Fifty individual photos taken at varying focal points (focus bracketing) were merged together to create a final image with a high level of magnification and a wide depth of field. Editing was done to highlight the natural contrast and vibrance of the fungus.
