Summary

Description
English: On the evening of Sunday, June 22, 2003, severe storms pounded southern Nebraska and northern Kansas with about 30 cm of rain, large hailstones, and at least seven tornadoes. The animation above, which covers three hours between 4:55 and 7:55 p.m., shows the tops of the thunder-heads, with their characteristic “anvil clouds” extending eastward, starting to appear at 7:15 p.m. central time.
