Highsmith Archive, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division.; Built from 1901 to 1904 by businessman Nathan Goff, Jr., a former U.S. Congressman and Secretary of the Navy, who hired American architect Harrison Albright, best known for his design of the West Baden Springs Hotel in Orange County, Indiana, to design it. The hotel was once the social center of Clarksburg. The hotel was named for Goff's father, Waldo Goff.; Title, date and keywords based on information provided by the photographer.; Forms part of: West Virginia Collection within the Carol M. Highsmith Archive.
