Description
English: Like many artists around 1900, Otto Hesselbom stylised his subject matter by emphasising the contours. His lines reveal his interest in decorative effects in the style of the Viennese Secessionists and Old Norse embellishments. The strong lines are combined with a subtle, realistic portrayal of summer light. Although Hesselbom’s landscapes are based specifically on Dalsland, they are perceived to have a national character rather than being regional.
