English: St George's Gardens This was one of the first burial grounds located away from a church; it was originally established in 1713 to serve two parishes: St George the Martyr, Queen Square and St George, Bloomsbury. It was closed in 1855 but later reopened as a public park, retaining the mature London plane trees and larger monuments. |
