English: Fens are botanically diverse habitats that have become increasingly rare due to human development. Pictured here are the inflorescences of Platanthera lacera in the foreground, and Sarracenia purpurea in the background from a poor fen in Shingleton, Michigan. Photo was taken using a canon t7i camera and 18-55mm lens. Many Platantheras are moth pollinated and the fringed lower labellums are hypothesized to aid in moth pollination as a sort of stirrup-like foothold.
