Summary

Description
English: Italian ironclad Caio Duilio. Photographed at La Spezia Navy Yard, at about the time of her completion in 1880. Note the depressed angle of the ships twin 450mm (17.72 inch) guns, mounted in turrets placed en echelon amidships. Note also the large sheer leg crane to the right, believed to be fixed on a barge for use in fitting out ships building at the yard.
