Description
English: The VISSR instrument onboard the NOAA GOES-8 satellite captured this visible image of Hurricane Mitch on October 26, 1998, at 18:45 UTC (14:45 EDT). At the time this image was captured, Mitch had maximum sustained wind speeds of 180 mph (285 km/h), and its minimum central pressure was 905 mb.
