Svenska: Signerad : "J B (G?) Plazer".
Badande män och kvinnor i damm framför palats, trappa med åskådare och lutspelare samt svart man, iskänkande vin. Figurrik scen.
Plåten fästad under träram. Förgylld, profilerad ram med bladornament. Ramlistens bredd 50 mm.
Skrivet på papperslapp : "LV" under krona och "N 151".

Fountain scene in front of a palace.
This painting, like "Dancing scene with palace interior" (inv.no 3216), also depicts a scene of bacchanalian inspiration. Here, half naked figures are seen interacting in a fountain in front of a palace. The erotic expression of the figures in a combination with the visual attributes like pearls clearly corresponds with earlier depictions of the myth of Venus. However, as the painting is made as a twin to "Dancing scene with palace interior", it is possible that this motif, like the other, derives from the Odyssey.
