Description
English: Officer's Cross of the Légion of Honour – or golden eagle - Type 4 (1811 - 1815)
The decoration of the Legion of Honour will be a star with five double spokes.
Central star surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel, present on one side the head of the Emperor, with the caption: Napoleon Emp. des Francais [Napoleon Emp. of the French] and the other, the french eagle holding lightning, with the caption: Honneur et Patrie [Honour and Fatherland].
The decoration is enameled in white.
It will be gold for Great Officers, Commanders and Officers, and silver for the Legionaries, it will take to a buttonhole of coat and tied a moire red ribbon.
Français : Croix d’Officier de la Légion d'honneur – ou aigle d’or - Type 4 (1811 – 1815)
La décoration de la Légion d'Honneur consistera dans une étoile à cinq rayons doubles.
Le centre de l'étoile, entouré d'une couronne de chêne et de laurier, présentera, d'un côté, la tête de l'Empereur, avec cette légende : Napoléon Emp. des Français et, de l'autre, l'aigle française tenant la foudre, avec cette légende : Honneur et Patrie.
La décoration sera émaillée de blanc.
Elle sera en or pour les Grands-Officiers, les Commandants et les Officiers, et en argent pour les Légionnaires ; on la portera à une des boutonnières de l'habit et attachée à un ruban moiré de rouge.
