English: Nick Holonyak's demonstration of brilliant red light from a semiconductor diode laser at this site on October 9, 1962 ultimately led to commercial light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The building is near Syracuse, New York in the United States. In 1962 it was known as Building 3 at the General Electric Company's Electronics Park.
