English: A digital version of the first edition of the posthumously published diary by Georg B. Quistgaard.
Each page has been enhanced (iterative object detection with median filtering) using open source software to improve the readability.
The diary contains three illustrations, inserted after pages 16 and 32. In the digital version these three illustrations have been placed after the numbered pages, so each numbered page appears on the digital page with the same number.
This copy of the diary is signed by a Henning Jørgensen in December 1946, the year of publication.
Among its pages lies a card from the author's mother, Marie Quistgaard née Breyen. The back of the card contains a hand written message, presumably from her, expressing gratitude to an unnamed person (presumably Henning Jørgensen) for honouring her son by attending his memorial service in Grundtvig's Church.
The digital version of the diary includes a copy of this card.
The author of this diary was executed in the spring of 1944, 70 years ago.
Since his diary was published in Denmark which is a signatory of the Berne Convention the original diary has lapsed into the public domain.
