Summary

Description
English: Reproduction of a photograph of the portrait of Friedrich Wilhelm Arnold (1810-1864). Arnold was a German musician, music seller, publisher and folk-song collector. The original painting was created ca. 1838 and was destroyed in an English bombing raid in the Emmastraat, Bezuidenhout, Den Haag on March 3 1945. A photograph of the painting was taken by Arnold's great-gandson Johannes Schnabel in the early 1940's prior to the bombing. This potograph is in my family's possession. The present reproduction is an edited scan of that photograph.
