Description
English: Detail of the: Plano de Madrid and surrounding villages at the beginning of the twentieth century, by Facundo Cañada López, Commander of the Guardia Civil.

Date 1900 or 1901. In this small detail see the Manzanares River and the Bridge of Segovia, and the large estate that was the "Quinta de Goya" or "Quinta del Sordo."

At that time still retained the house of Goya, but devoid of the famous Black Paintings.
Español: Detalle del "Plano de Madrid y Pueblos colindantes al empezar el siglo XX", por Facundo Cañada López, Comandante de la Guardia Civil. Fecha 1900 ó 1901. En este pequeño detalle vemos el río Manzanares a la altura del Puente de Segovia, y la gran finca que fue la "Quinta de Goya" o "Quinta del Sordo", rodeada de amplios solares, que en 1900 ya se estaban urbanizando. Se conservaba parte de la casa de Goya, aunque desprovista del ala izquierda, donde estuvieron las famosas Pinturas Negras. En 1900 solamente existía el palacete de los sucesores de Goya (y no la primitiva casa rural de los tiempos del pintor), según revista Madrid Histórico, nº 63, mayo/junio de 2016.
