English: The Dahi paani-puri is an Indian street food. It consists of hollow crunchy spheres made by frying semolina dough cut outs called "puri". The puri is cracked at the top making a hole. Mashed potatoes are inserted through the hole followed by "dahi" (in hindi dahi means yogurt). At this stage it is called "sukhi puri" (in hindi sukhi means dry). Adding black salted chickpea to the puri is optional. The rest of the puri is now filled with either sweet tamarind water or spicy green chilli and mint water. When the puri breaks in the mouth the flavors of smooth potatoes, spicy water and crunchy puri can be savoured all at once.
