English: Pictured here as if in a portrait is Cypripedium candidum, a diminutive orchid on the IUCN red list. The Ohio population is limited to a single remnant prairie near Sandusky. Photo was taken using a canon t7i and a 18-55mm lens; and a modified arborist's throw cube to isolate the flower structure. Orchid floral traits are highly plastic and lateral sepals and labellum are often highly modified for reproductive success.
