English: The concluding section of the "Remarks on New Creations" article by Gerard Krefft in The Sydney Mail of Saturday, 5 July 1873 — an article in which he addresses the fact that "Many persons", in Australia, in 1873, continue to support the (to Krefft's satisfaction disproven) notion of the immutability of species; namely, that they "believe that all living things on this earth were created just as we find them at the present day, and that after the first general act of the Almighty special creations ceased", and drawing his reader's attention to the fact that, given the new understanding "that all vertebrata can have only two pair of limbs", and the relationship between wings and limbs, the notion that angels are six-, rather than four-limbed creatures (as traditionally depicted by artists) will need to be revised.
