A dark brown bulbous fish fossil, facing left, on tan stone. The fish has a distinctive fin that stands mostly upright in the middle of its back.

Cockerellites liops (formerly Priscacara liops) occurs in at least one mass mortality layer indicating it was a schooling fish. The specimen is approximately 13 cm long. Catalog number FOBU428, single fish from mass mortality pictured here.
