Summary

Description
English: Commonwealth Railways CN class locomotive, no. CN76, at Port Pirie, South Australia, with a mixed train for Port Augusta, South Australia. The locomotive was built in Canada in 1908 for the Canadian Northern Railway, and was later owned by the Canadian National Railways. During World War II, it was exported from Canada to Australia. It entered service with the Commonwealth Railways in February 1943 and was officially withdrawn in April 1952.

This is one of a number of images in the collection of the State Library of South Australia depicting Commonwealth Railways locomotives said to have been taken in around 1951.
