Svenska: Vid källaren
Object type painting

Description
English: When his own sons and daughters had grown up, Carl Larsson used the children of his neighbours at Sundborn as his models. The children in this picture are from the Nordlund family. Seven-year-old Sven is standing on the roof of the family earth cellar. His older sister Edit is carrying Karin, and in the foreground is Frida with a little basket. Carl Larsson’s late watercolours have the same linear style as those from around 1900, but the colours are often paler.
