Postcard featuring a hand-drawn illustrated depiction of the Dupuy de Lôme airship designed by French naval architect Henri Dupuy de Lôme (1816-1885). One of the first navigable balloons, the Dupuy de Lôme was powered by a crank operated by 4 or 8 individuals with speeds between 9 and 11 km/h. 1872-Feb-02 (Date attributed to airship) 1909 (Date attributed to postcard)
