Summary

Description

SCHMALL."

1902-08-07 - The New York herald: "AUSTRIAN AUTOMOBILE NOTES. Vienne, dimanche. — MM.
English: 1903-01 AUTOMOTOR-JOURNAL: "A 15-HP LOHNER-PORSCHE PETROL-ELECTRIC CAR" with Panhard & Levassor engine and the "Electromagnetic regulator for admission-valves of hydrocarbon-motors" invented by A. C. KREBS (patent US691.638).

"The actual position of the field magnets therefore varies in accordance with the load Porsche patent GB190305561A, and they are connected in such a manner with the engine that they replace the ordinary centrifugal governor, and control the power developed by it." : which means that the dynamo connected to the engine controls its speed in feedback via the A. C. KREBS electromagnetic regulator.

1902/06/07 - L'AUTO-VELO : "IMPORTANT INDUSTRIAL NEWS - Vienna, June 6 (by dispatch). The Panhard house has just acquired the patents for the Lohner-Porsche mixed car, for France, England and Italy. The contract has just been signed. The cars will be manufactured by the Panhard house and will be called: Panhard et Levassor Lohner-Porsche system. SCHMALL."

1902-08-07 - The New York herald: "AUSTRIAN AUTOMOBILE NOTES. Vienna, Sunday.— Messrs. Jacob Lohner and Co., the Vienna automobile manufacturers, have just concluded a contract with the French firm of Panhard and Levassor, by which the latter will construct machines according to the Lohner-Porsche system. Several of Messrs. Panhard and Levassor’s engin eers and foremen have arrived in Vienna nnd are now at work in Messrs. Lohner’s factory. They will remain here for some time, under the tuition of the engineer Herr Porsche, and will then return, accomnanied by a number of skilled Vienna workmen, when the building of the new type of machine will commence in Paris. It is estimated that the first automobiles constructed at 'Messrs. Panhard and Levassor’s factory on the Lohner-Porsche plan vill make their appearance in the spring of 1903."
