Over the years, he gained recognition for his leadership and ability to drive growth in the organizations he worked for.[3]

He started his career at Akintola Williams Deloitte in 2003, a consultancy firm, before moving on to the Nigerian Bottling Company, where he contributed to the marketing and sales of Coca-Cola products. Later, he joined FrieslandCampina, where he served as Senior Sales Manager for the company's Peak dairy product. He also plays a role as National Sales Manager for Royal Philips Netherlands, a position he held from 2013 to 2018.[3]

Political career

[edit]

Fasuwa's foray into politics began in 2014, when he contested for the Ogun State House of Assembly.[4] During his tenure, he focused on infrastructure development and community engagement, making significant contributions to constituency growth and local governance.[5] His leadership within the All Progressives Congress (APC) earned him a reputation for dedication and responsiveness to local issues.[6]

In 2024, Fasuwa was nominated as a Federal Commissioner under the administration of President Bola Tinubu. His work in this role involved overseeing national census operations and demographic planning, and he played a key part in improving data collection for national population policies.[1]

National Population Commission

[edit]

In 2024, Fasuwa was appointed to the National Population Commission (NPC) as a Federal Commissioner, representing Ogun State. His responsibilities include overseeing census operations, demographic planning, and population data management for the nation. As part of the NPC, he works to ensure that Nigeria's population data is accurately collected, analyzed, and used for national development policies, especially in areas such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure planning.[1]

His tenure in this position has been marked by preparations for Nigeria's national census, one of the most critical population exercises in recent times, aimed at obtaining up-to-date demographic data to inform government decision-making. He has also been involved in modernizing data collection methods, using digital tools to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the census process.[1]

Fasuwa was recognized for his dedication to public service and his ability to bridge the gap between government policies and grassroots needs. His leadership within the NPC is seen as pivotal to the success of the forthcoming census, especially given the complexities of Nigeria's diverse population.[6]
