FK Pajova, representing the largest municipal unit in the former district of Peqin, was officially registered on October 1, 2013, to compete in Kategoria e Tretë, the fourth tier of Albanian football. The club was founded with the enthusiastic support by two branches of the Tabaku family, seven members of which formed the core of the team.[citation needed]
Under the leadership of head coach Izet Kurti, a former youth player of Shkumbini Peqin, Pajova managed to repeat their participation in the bottom tier division the following season.[2]
