Eugenio Sena (born 19 December 1991) is an Italian professional football manager.
Early life
[edit]Sena was born in 1991 in Ragusa, a city of Sicily Island in south of Italy.
After graduating from high school he moved in Pavia, (north Italy , near to Milan) to study Sport Science and Exercise; he will obtain a Master in Football Performance as well.
Sena has held various coaching positions with clubs in several countries including Italy, Hungary, Australia, China, Russia, England, Montenegro, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Georgia, Cyprus and Scotland.
Academy Career
[edit]During graduating in Sport Science and Exercise, he was an intern for a Football Club Internazionale Milano foundation center. His first time to move abroad was in Hungary, for the premier league side Debreceni VSC. He has coached youth teams in 2014 for one season. He also was scouting young talents for the hungarian club.[2]
In 2015, Sena moved to Australia to coach for several clubs in first teams as and academies, based in Sydney (as academy manager as well) including NPL teams Fraser Park FC and Dunbar Rovers FC.
After that he started to work Juventus Football Club academy international for multiple times, holding positions as technical coordinator, chief scout, head of football, lead coach in: China, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland and Georgia.
During graduating in Master in Football Performance in 2017, Sena was committed at AC ChievoVerona youth teams for a season before he was on the move again.[3]
Sena arrived in England in 2018 to work at Yeovil, as academy coach and Head of Analysis. Due to the first team's relegation from League 2 to National League, the Somerset club had to close the academy.[4]
First Team Career
[edit]Montenegro was the next destination for Sena. He was appointed as assistant manager of FK Obilić.[5]He remained at the club for two season before departing for Saudi Arabia.
In 2021, Sena was appointed as assistant manager of Saudi First Division League side Al Faisaly, working under Paolo Tramezzani.The club was committed in the Super Cup final and AFC Champions League as well.[6]
After a short spell in Saudi Arabia - in which has been caretaker manager as well - Sena was appointed as first team Manager of Greek side AEP Kozani in 2022 (third league).[7][8]
Sena was appointed as first team assistant coach and head of analysis at Scottish Premiership side Livingston in June 2023.[9]
After a season working under David Martindale, Sena left Livi - in according with first team manager - for accepting an offer to become first team manager of Podosfairikos Omilos Xylotymbou 2006 in Second League in Cyprus.[10][11]
