Etlingera heyniana is a monocotyledonous plant species first described by Theodoric Valeton[3][4][5] and given its current name by Rosemary Margaret Smith.[6] Etlingera heyniana is part of the genus Etlingera and the family Zingiberaceae.[7][8]
The range of the species is Java.[7] No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life.[7] It was last observed in 1921 and assessed as extinct by the IUCN in 2019.[1]
