End of life announcement

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Milestones in a product life cycle: general availability (GA), end of life announcement (EOLA), last order date (LOD), and end-of-life (EOL)

End of life announcement (EOLA) is the beginning of end-of-life.[1] The EOLA will precede the last order date (LOD) by up to 90 days. Customers need to order the product before the last order date. JEDEC standards specify the end of the product life cycle.

For example, the Sega Dreamcast EOLA was on January 31, 2001,[2] 60 days before the last order date.

The end-of-life announcement happens before the product's end of life.
