Eddica minora

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eddica minor. Dichtungen eddischer Art aus den Fornaldarsögur und anderen Prosawerken. ("The Lesser Edda. Poems of Eddic type from the Fornaldarsögur and Other Prose Works.[1]") is a German-language book of Eddic poetry compiled by Andreas Heusler and Wilhelm Ranisch in 1903. Unlike the Eddic poetry published in the Poetic Edda (whose main source is the Codex Regius), the poems in Eddica minora were extracted by the authors mostly from the Legendary sagas.[2][3]

The first 110 pages of the book contains detailed introductions to each poem, including its manuscripts.[2] The second half of the book contains transcriptions of the ancient poems.
